Day 12 Munich, Germany / Austin 10/25/11

Up at 6:00 a.m. and showered, we headed to the train station where we caught the Lufthansa bus just outside the station.  It was still dark as we rode back to the airport.  We checked in with no problems and spent our last 10 euros at the little shop by our gate.  We sat together on our return to Atlanta, and after a few movies, some cross-word puzzles, and typing this blog until the computer battery died, we resorted to eating the “emergency Butterfinger” Connie had purchased in the Austin airport before departing.  She had actually purchased two, but one had disappeared at some undisclosed emergency earlier in the trip.

Salzburg, Austria

Upon arriving in Atlanta, we had the fun of getting our passports checked and then going through customs where we had to turn over our vacuum sealed cured bacon purchased in Innsbruck as a national security threat.  Once we found the right terminal, we were off to find Connie the nearest Dr Pepper.
Then we easily caught our connecting flights to Austin, landing around 6:00 p.m.  We got our luggage and met our ride (who brought along Connie’s kids) and headed straight to Chuy’s for some long overdue Tex-Mex!  Hooray – we’re home.
